Capacity pooling

Our Transportation group also oversees a customerowned capacity pooling company that controls the largest independent fleet of rail cars operated by the Union Pacific Railroad. Customer-owners hold long-term contracts for use of the cars so they have operational control over a significant amount of additional capacity. We provide capacity pooling and a commodity exchange program on the Union Pacific Railroad to service the expanding ethanol industry. Our goal is to provide capacity exchange programs and freight car leasing on all the major railroads in North America.
